How many porta potties does a construction site need?

A construction site with 20 or fewer workers needs at least 1 toilet under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51, Table D-1. A crew of more than 20 needs 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal for every 40 workers. A crew of 200 or more needs 1 seat and 1 urinal for every 50 workers. That is the legal minimum.

Our recommendation of about 1 unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week keeps units from filling between weekly services. Nebraska follows federal OSHA. Iowa jobsites fall under Iowa OSHA, which adopts the same construction rule. Your safety lead or general contractor makes the final call.

Do jobsites need a hand-washing station?

A jobsite needs handwashing whenever workers handle paint, coatings, lead or other materials that must be washed off, under OSHA 1926.51(f). Many Omaha general contractors require a hand-washing station on every site. A towable unit with a built-in sink covers small crews.

Add a hand-washing station or a towable porta potty with a hand sink that can move with your crew.

How does weekly jobsite service work?

Weekly jobsite service in Omaha happens on the same weekday each week. The tech pumps the tank, scrubs the seat, urinal, walls and floor, adds fresh deodorizer and restocks toilet paper and sanitizer. The service is included in the 28-day rate. Busy sites can add a second weekly visit for $55.

  • Give us the gate code or lockbox and the service day you prefer
  • Keep the unit reachable: no material stacked against the door, no truck blocking the path
  • Need it moved as the build moves? We relocate on a service day at no charge
  • Billing runs in 28-day cycles and stops on the pickup date

Where should a jobsite porta potty go?

A jobsite porta potty should sit on level, firm ground within about 25 feet of where our truck can park, away from the dumpster, the driveway apron and overhead lines. Placing it in the shade in summer and out of the wind in winter keeps it usable.

New lot with no driveway yet? Tell us where the truck can stop and we will place the unit there.

Questions about this rental

Can I rent a porta potty for my home remodel?

Homeowners rent porta potties for remodels all the time, especially when the only bathroom is torn out or the water is shut off. One standard unit in the driveway with weekly service covers a typical crew of 2 to 6.

Do you serve roofing jobs that only last 2 or 3 days?

Roofing jobs of 2 or 3 days get the short-term rate, the same as an event rental. The unit drops the morning the crew starts and comes back when the roof is done.

Who pays for the jobsite porta potty, the homeowner or the contractor?

Either can pay. Most general contractors rent the unit under their company account. Homeowners can rent it directly for a remodel. The quote and invoice go to whoever books.

Can the jobsite unit be moved when the crew moves?

We move jobsite units on the next service day at no charge. If you need a move the same day, call us and we will fit it in when a truck is nearby.

Do you send a certificate of insurance for commercial sites?

Commercial customers can ask for a certificate of insurance with the order. Send the holder name and address, and we email it before the first drop.
