What are the types of porta potties?

Omaha renters choose from five porta potty types: the standard unit, a flushing unit with a sink, a wheelchair-accessible unit, a stand-alone hand-washing station and a restroom trailer. A standard unit needs no water or power. A restroom trailer needs a level spot and a 110-volt outlet. The rest need nothing from you.

Which unit is the wrong pick?

A porta potty type is the wrong pick when the site cannot support it. A restroom trailer is wrong without level ground and power. A wheelchair-accessible unit is wrong for a tight side yard because it needs about 7 by 7 feet. A standard unit is the wrong pick for a formal wedding with older guests.

Will a porta potty fit through my gate?

A standard porta potty fits through a gate about 4 feet wide, because the unit is about 44 inches wide and is carried upright on a dolly. A wheelchair-accessible unit needs about 8 feet and usually stays in front of the gate. Measure the gate and tell us the width when you call.

Questions about porta potty types

What is the difference between a porta potty and a restroom trailer?

A porta potty is a single plastic stall with a holding tank and no plumbing. A restroom trailer is a towed unit with real flushing toilets, sinks, lights and climate control. A trailer needs a level spot and a standard outlet. A porta potty can go almost anywhere a truck can reach.

Do standard porta potties have urinals?

Standard porta potties have a small urinal on the wall beside the toilet seat. The urinal drains into the same tank. That helps on jobsites, where OSHA counts urinals toward the required number of facilities for crews over 20.

Is a wheelchair-accessible unit the same as ADA-compliant?

A wheelchair-accessible unit has a ground-level floor, grab bars and room to turn a wheelchair. Whether a whole event setup meets the 2010 ADA Standards also depends on the route to the unit and the number of accessible units. Your event host or venue confirms compliance.

Can I mix different unit types in one order?

You can mix unit types in one order. A common Omaha wedding order is 1 restroom trailer, 1 wheelchair-accessible unit and 1 hand-washing station. Everything arrives on the same truck and is listed on one quote.
